I Sell Used Clothes

WHY DO I SELL USED CLOTHES?

In 2017 I started selling second hand clothing.

It all started when I saw an Instagram post on the Discover page where a girl posted she made $3,000 profits from selling used clothes in 60 days. I thought to myself "Wow, I want in on this business too!" Being a savvy shopper I was confident I could get started.

I made my first sale in 2017, within 24 hours of starting, and was instantly hooked! Today, I run a whole business for my brand L.A. Outfitters (which stands for Loved Again Outfitters)

Shopping second hand stores, I find amazing used, and also BRAND NEW items with tags. I've found designer brands like Dolce & Gabbanna, Givency, Prada clothes, and I also find items like shoes, home goods and more!

Quality is KEY in my business of second hand clothing. I carefully inspect everything before I buy it. It has to been in excellent condition (stain free, no holes, no loose threading etc.) before I will buy it. Then when I get home I reinspect, steam (sometimes wash) & then photograph and list the items for sale.

Once an item sells I neatly wrap and package it up, then ship it to my customer

BENEFITS OF RESELLING?

It has created another source of income for our family with is really cool! We use my profits as our "fun" money! I've paid for a Disney Cruise, theme park tickets, water park passes, movie tickets and so much more just off the profits of reselling! It's been pretty cool running a side business off a hobby I LOVE (shopping) and making extra cash!

ECO-FRIENDLY BENIFITS?

Through out my journey, I been learning about the negative impacts of discarded clothing & fast fashion. (I will fully elaborate on that in another post since there is SO much information.)

Being able to give clothes a second life feels great! Everyone wins! I make a small profit, the customer gets a great deal (usually 50-75% off of what they would have paid retail) and it's one less item that ends up in a landfill!
